Tapchanger Services Ltd provide a
one-stop-shop for all tapchanger
requirements.
A brief overview
Tapchanger Services Ltd. was formed in 1990 to
meet an increasing requirement from the
Electricity Supply Industry for a specialist
company in tapchanger maintenance and repair.
Our experience spans over 50 years of the
tapchanger industry. Our engineers have been
involved in the design, development, repair and
maintenance of tapchangers both in the UK and
overseas on behalf of Ferranti, AEI, GEC and ATL.
Our engineers have working experience of all
manufacturers including ABB, MR, Ferranti, AEI,
ATL and many more and are experienced in
carrying out maintenance and repair on all types
of tapchangers on-site or at our workshop.
Our personnel are all National Grid Company
accredited and all hold current CCNSG safety
passports.
Tapchanger Services Ltd. engineers and
technicians have considerable experience of
working under site specific safety regulations on
power generation and distribution sites as well as
large industrial power consumers.
Guy Kay
Managing Director and Chief
Engineer.
Time served and fully
qualified. Guy joined his
father at the family
business - Tapchanger Services Ltd. in 1994 - then
took over the company when his father retired.
Alex Etemad
Field Engineer.
With an extended diploma in
Mechanical Manufacturing &
Engineering, Alex joined us
as an apprentice in 2011 and
quickly became a full time member of the team.
Jim Clowes
Technician.
Jim joined us as an
apprentice in 2015 and he
completed his course with
an NVQ Level 3 in
Engineering Technology and Engineering Technical
Support.
Lewis Rand
Apprentice Technician.
Lewis is our current
apprentice, studying weekly
at Derby College. He joined
us in 2018 and will complete
his apprenticeship in 2021.
Lucy Cartlidge
Sales & Administration
Support.
Lucy joined us in 2013 and is
your first point of contact for
quotations, job planning &
sales of consumables.
